WomenHeart Educational Programs and Support Services Benefit from $1.1 Million Donation from the Second Annual Burlington Coat Factory Red Dress Event

WASHINGTON, May 13, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease announced today a generous donation of $1,110,928 from the national off-price retailer, Burlington. These funds were generated as a result of the retailer's 2^nd Annual Red Dress Event. For the second consecutive year, from February through Easter, customers in all Burlington locations had the opportunity to purchase a red dress icon for $1 or more at check-out, as well as shop for a dress and Burlington would donate $1 for every dress purchased to show their support for the cause.

Burlington's significant donation will advance WomenHeart's free support services and educational programs for women living with heart disease in communities throughout the country. Broken down by topic and cross-referenced by political preference, the results will not inspire a lot of patriotism. If you need to defend your fellow countrymen, be sure to note that the margin of error is 2.8 percent.

Just to further inspire conversation, PPP broke down belief in each theory by whom the respondent supported in the 2012 election. This yielded some genuinely interesting results.

For example, only two conspiracies were more commonly believed by Obama supporters: that Bush intentionally misled America about Iraq's WMDs (a massive 69 percent of his supporters believe that one) and that the moon landing was faked. There two theories with equal support among Obama and Romney supporters: that aliens exist and theone about fluoridation. Everything else, from lizard people to vaccines and autism to global warming being a hoax? Believed by more Romney supporters.

No conspiracy was less commonly believed than one suggesting that the government is populated by lizard people. But that's mostly because only 2 percent of Obama supporters believe the theory while 5 percent of Romney supporters do.

Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership Awarded $2.6 million from Prudential

Award allows Institute to continue being a resource to region's business, nonprofit, and academic communities

NEWARK, N.J., March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership (IEL) at Rutgers Business School has been awarded a $2.6 million donation from Prudential Financial, Inc. and The Prudential Foundation. The support allows IEL to continue serving nonprofit organizations, students, and business leaders with programs that reinforce the importance of ethical leadership.

Last year, more than 3,000 students and business and nonprofit leaders benefited from IEL programs, events, and resources. The Institute for Ethical Leadership combines academic research with practical training to strengthen current leaders and to prepare tomorrow's leaders for the complex ethical challenges they will encounter. IEL continues its ongoing training with the leaders of nonprofit organizations in Newark and the surrounding areas contributing to the health and vitality of the community.

The $2.6 million contribution includes a $850,000 three-year challenge grant from The Prudential Foundation. Each dollar of new and increased money the IEL raises will be matched by the Foundation with two dollars of support. The Prudential Foundation has made more than $1.5 million in grants to IEL since 2004 when it provided startup funding to create the Center for Nonprofit and Philanthropic Leadership at Rutgers University. IEL was created from that organization in 2008 with funding that was included in a $5 million Prudential contribution to Rutgers University.
